Do you think new Android phones would be worth the wait?

I'm looking at either a Galaxy S II, or the rumored S III to be out in April. Are there other good alternatives out there? And no, the iPhone 4S is NOT an option.

Also, any news on Windows phones?

shouldn't be any different, just make sure it's 4G and on the list for android 4.0 and you're good.

Already out here, my brothers girlfriend has one and its better than my brothers Samsung Omnia 7. Windows phones are okay but i still like Android when it works properly.

Got myself a Motorola Atrix second hand this week, nothing at all wrong with it. Dual core Tegra 2, 1gb of ram, upgrade to ice cream sandwich is on its way, hdmi, a memory card slot; id say it is a decent handset.

Id wait and see, at least by then maybe current contract prices will drop or sim free phones prices. Any phone with Ice Cream Sandwich is good. A few of the phones will run Tegra 3 SoC with 4 cores a few are still dual cores. Nothing really takes advantage of multi cores yet so its mainly if you want a better screen and better graphics chip but who knows how long before shit takes advantage of that.

I have a Galaxy sII "Hercules" which IIRC has the quickest CPU for a Samsung phone (1.5Ghz vs 1.2Ghz) and i don't think they have any future plans to continue using it as the 1.2Ghz satisfies their need's from what i recall reading, i could how ever be wrong. I had complained about batt life when i first got this phone but i loaded "juice defender" (free app) and i noticed quite a difference, marked improvement over "stock". If you have a limited data plan make sure to disable all of the stock apps and enable/load only what you need otherwise you may run into data issues, they have a few apps that run on in the background and chew up data

Now if only my carrier would give us the ICS update's!!! I ended up paying $56.50 (after tax) for this phone and it is the absolute best phone i have ever had, my first phone was a Motorola "brick" back in '93 - '94 lol

Well I'll be posting in this thread once again. Looks like the phones with Ice Cream Sandwich already are the ones I should be looking at. Would most likely buy a new phone in the last week of April (while I'm in Singapore).

I have a Galaxy Nexus. I want to throw it out the window sometimes. I hate Iphones/Apple so I refuse to buy one. The Nexus is a cool phone, but man does it piss me off sometimes. My Wife has an Iphone 4s and I hate it.

EDIT: and it's portable, so perfect for a SHTF scenario since cell phone towers and internet infrastructure are fragile.
