yeah I think the 80's rather sucked too, reaganomics, the arms race, cold war, aids first started to become more known, drug use through the roof, cars were ugly as hell, gas hit 1.00$ a gallon for the first time ever (compare that with .35-.60 from 1970-76)

Sure it wasn't the 30's or 40's by any means but overall I think the 90's wins out for the greatest era of prosperity and relative peace (ie we weren't seeing major effects of war, gulf war was short and we lost more men to freindly fire from artillery than from the enemy)

of course no decade is perfect but if you look at all the 90's had to offer its hard not to see it as a great time in american history.

90's was my decade.

I hated big hair, padded shoulders, platform shoes, spandex, pseudo-spiritualism (that eventually became "new age"), hair gel, beemers, preppies, pseudo-preppies, wannabe preppies, preppie groupies, rock stars (especially if they didn't even have any rock), etc.

And most of all, neo-hippie revivalists . . . maaaahhhhnnn. Fuckin' grateful dead, peasant skirts and sandals. Dude, the last thing I want to see is your scary ass feet. Maybe you get a mani-pedi and a good going over by some hungry garra rufa, we'll see.

I too hated the 80's....90% of the culture sucked ass...except for Duran Duran, Mettalica and Phil Collins...
