And that's where your logic is flawed. USA became a super-power between 1939 and 1950. Correct me if I'm wrong but the first incursion of government into healthcare wasn't until 1965. That was at least a decade of being one of two super powers with no government influence on healthcare. From about 1980s (Soviet collapse) to about 2002, USA was considered a "hyperpower." There was more government involvement in healthcare but at the same time, healthcosts were soaring. Put bluntly, healthcare has nothing to do with whether or not a country is "3rd world." If that were the only metric, USA would be about 40th behind most European nations. Last time I checked, they were begging the USA to save their economy by bailing out USA's banks with global reach.

A superpower, that's why 15% of the US citizens live in poverty. The US is turning into a third world country, the economy can't support the arrogance anymore and the people are suffering from it.

It sure is but that's because the government is doing things it shouldn't be (like trying to run healthcare, insurance companies, auto industry, retirement plans, and regulate everything, to name a few). Scale back on those and focus instead on things that stimulate the econmy like better education (with a huge emphasis on science) and infrastucture then watch the USA boom again like it did between 1945-1962.

We're putting so much money into shit that doesn't matter (like wars, corporate bailouts, and subsidies), everything that does matter gets hardly anything.

The meds are cheaper than the consequence of not getting them (surgery). A stupid beaureacrat in Washington, D.C., likely would never figure that out. Has nothing to do with WOII. They weren't a democracy before WOII and they didn't turn into one during or after it. Google the Greek monarchy or something.

You can't just apply the workings of your government to every other out there. Sure, European governments are full of shit, but they're not turning us into a 3rd world countries like yours. Most don't anyway.

I don't know all the details about this healthcare plan, the only thing I do know is that it can't be good to have the US government handling healthcare right now.

I imagine what it's mostly likely going to be is a cash grab for all of Obama's cronies in the private sector and further the massive debt problem.

EDIT: Oh and I think the costs of healthcare will go up aswell, the federal government is just so inefficient with spending if anybody hasn't already noticed.
