Watched The Dark Knight Rises. It was really freaking good. I wont say it was better than The Dark Knight, but it was on par with it.

Watched This Is England earlier. It's a pretty good movie, haven't seen it in a few years. From Wiki:

Quote:
The story centres on young skinheads in England in 1983. The film illustrates how their subculture became adopted by white nationalists, which led to divisions within the skinhead scene.
There's also a spin off mini-series This Is England '86 and '88 so I'm downloading them now. '86 focuses less on the white nationalist side so it should be interesting.

If only skinheads here knew their place, here they're pricks who go around beating up foreigners for fucking coloured laces, they're not true skinheads just the neo-nazi wankers. Whole lot of them are a bunch of pussies and I fucking hate them lol. They all act hard going around topless with the red laces in their boots but catch one on their own and they're fucking dead.

The two last movies I watched were:
Imprint, a horror flick
and
Oldboy, sort of a thriller

Both Asian movies, Imprint is Japanese and Oldboy is Korean, both awesome as it gets. I just love Asian films, they are original, they have heart, charm, they're brutal, but also brutally honest, and beautiful, and made for the viewer, not for the money. I shall buy more Asian Blurays.

The acting is better than the American remake, Quarantine

REC is a pretty good film indeed. Basically the only one I can watch that does employ the shaky cam. And the lead actress is hot as hell.

Remake or the 70s original?

I thought I have seen the best revenge film yet (Oldboy). Then I saw "I saw the Devil". Again, Korean flick, and just like Oldboy, starring Choi Min-sik.
He is one hell of an actor that puts so many Holliwood Stars to shame its not even funny. And the movie, my God was it epic. THIS is how you make a revenge film.

I now declare myself a fan of Korean movies.

Never heard of that one. Dubbed or subtitled?

Me neither, actually. I found it in the Eastern Movies section, read the description, and it sounded good. The fact that its uncut made the buying decision even easier. And, as said, I'm way impressed. Choi Min-sik instantly became one of my favorite actors. He can play everything, and display every emotion possibly so real its uncanny.

Uhm, the Bluray I got was German dubbed only. I don't know of any other localizations, nevermind how they sound. The German dub was brilliant tough, ironically the more low-budget or not well known (I saw the Devil certainly isn't low budget) a foreign movie is, the better the dubbing.

It's not a movie, but I've been rewatching the reimagined Battlestar Galactica. It's such an amazing show.

Watch Oldboy too, also with Choi Min-sik, but this time he's the "good guy".
Yeah I like original language too, if its not English then with subtitles, but as I stated, the German dub of that movie is pretty damn good. In fact all Eastern films I watched (Japanese, Thai, Philipino, Indonesian, Korean) have damn good German dubs. Its astonishing, since German dubs usually hurt my ears. With the exception of Married with Children and the Simpsons, I can't stand German dubs. My girlfriend forced me to watch How I met your Mother in German, I didn't even last ten minutes before I couldn't take it anymore.

It was the remake which I like a lot better than the original 1978 movie.

Saw the new Dark Knight movie, was rather outlandish. Didn't live up to the 2nd one (the Joker) but then it would be hard to do as well as that great film. Was still a fun movie to watch but it left me feeling a bit unsatisfied, they tried getting to cute, especially at the end.

8/10, mostly for Catwoman

dark knight rises sucked pretty much the whole movie. only the last quarter is worth watching.

first 3/4ths is full of boring shit. very slow movie. and the silly jokes they tried to put in was awkward. also there are too many goof offs and stuff.

While I agree those are good movies, his best performance has to be Rain man.
