It could happen and, if hostilities escallate, it will be a concern. China's already demonstrated expansionist behaviors (like harrassing the Phillipines and Taiwan). If an open war starts, there is little to stop them from grabbing as much land as they can.

I have a hard time seeing China come out in the open like that and put a breach between us. China and the US need each other and antagonizing us and our allies by seizing disputed territory or outright firing on US troops in Korea would hardly be the way to do that.

I think they should be secretly grateful if we took out Kim, he is almost literally a loose warhead and puts them in an awkward position no matter what they may say publicly.

Have you seen the guy? He probably doesn't have a thought outside of what he wants to eat for dinner. It's his generals/advisors doing all this. Or at least telling him what to do.

How many people remember that the reason why a North and South Korea exists today is because of the Chinese?

The truth is that USA would just scream and hollar if China aquired North Korea during a North/South war. We wouldn't commit our own resources to driving China off the pennisula again.

North Korea's only major trading partner is China. North Korea is to China as China is to the USA.

Well personally I could care less if the Chinese took North Korea for themselves, might actually be more stable if that happened. Now attacking our troops and helping them invade the South? That is what I am doubtful on.
