Those videos over-simplify things. Depending on what country you go to it can be a nightmare to get the paperwork sorted.

When I moved from Spain to UK it was very easy had very little to do to get going. When I wanted to move back to Spain, it was a serious PITA with all the beauracratic

The pension thing I didn't know about though, might research that a little and try living in another country for a while.

actually completely legitimate, no single country in the EU could ever hope to compete with the U.S. That's part of why it was formed. This here is another way to try and mirror/compete with the U.S. yet falls short due to lack of what we would call here "federal power".

The United States of America was setup with the mind that sovereign States (which I remind you is another term for Nation) could cooperate and function as one while remaining sovereign themselves.

The Europeon Union was setup many years later with a similar goal. The difference being that there was far less cooperation between countries of the EU than there was between the individual states of the U.S. when it was formed. At the same time the EU is far younger as a "federal power" which shows in its lack of control.

In fact no other entity except the EU is even capable of being compared to the U.S.

nope the EU's main goal was to prevent future wars and help in co-operation between european countries
