My ghetto mechanic stand that is no way near as useful as an actual mechanic stand. I couldn't find anything small and narrow to elevate so the wheel could move freely, but at least the chain could move freely.

I think the pictures just look bad, I'm fairly upright on it thanks to the riser stem.
Why didn't you just turn it upside down? Totally free, and the easiest way to do it. Even if you brake and shift levers are in the way, it takes 30 seconds to loosen and rotate them out of the way, then another 30 seconds to return them when finished. Mech stands for a pedal bike are a total waste of money and/or time (as in your case). You are making things too complicated.

My friend and I worked at the same telemarketing company for a few weeks. We got sooooo bored so we would do stupid stuff like this to keep from going insane with boredom. And it was worth it

Took this on the way home on a 35km cycle, really nice weather. Relatively clear skies, warm sun and very little wind.

Taken at 9:00pm, it was very dark actually (notice the lights in the street). I needed a tripod though I guess. Taking a photo in low light increases the ISO making any hand movements smudge the photo..
