Ouch. Betcha wish you never left Texas now huh? Damage doesn't look too bad. Get it tipped back over before the oil leaked up into the cylinders?

That sucks man. Smart move documenting it with photos though. Thanks for sharing them. I'm sure it must be painful.

I drove into a ditch with my first car (fell asleep) and the side of the car looked just like that. It was too old to get repaired and had no blue book value so I drove it like that for a couple years until it finally died.

It leaked into the cyls a good bit blew blue smoke for about 10mins but after that it was fine and yes I checked the oil before starting it up again along with all the other fluids. Damage isn't horrrible for the accident but it broke some things on the front d30 oh well maybe they will call the axle a loss and I can put a cut up d60 in the front. personally i found it to be a small bit funny that the day before i was pissed the limited slip was not working with one wheel off the ground and the day of l/s kicked like a mofo and spun the ass out off throttle and everything else.

have had several myself this one i just didn't have enough room to correct :/ pretty wide turn that i spun in but its right up on the curb and the truck was on a full patch that just got worse when the ass end hit the even icier median. whats sad is i was off the throttle completely driving 10-15mph under the posted speed limit. oh well i guess being cautious only gets you so far.

Not just drivers, riders too. Black ice sucks even more on two wheels.

That sucks. That's a nice truck. Did you get any bullshit "reckless driving" or "too fast for conditions" tickets?

Nope the firefighter driving behind me vouched that I was driving well under the speedlimit so the cop couldn't really write me a ticket for shit.

Apparently you didn't get the memo that Ice-T is no longer black.

first couple of estimates are in looking around $4000 for body work. suspension and front axle are not in that the guy who did the front axle agrees and thinks i may have blown the drivers side outers.

Really $4000? Must be some cab damage too, from the pictures all I can see is Fender and Door damage, but thats not even close to $4000 in damage for just bodywork.

Where you at thats still got snow. I'm about 3 hours from Canada, and it looks like about that, but doesn't look like your in MN, looks like North Dakota or something.

I would hit a junkyard for half of that crap. But if your insurance will actually cover 4k on that, than might as well do it, but I would think 4k might be close to totaling it if you are also having them cover mechanical work.

Truck is worth 15k shouldn't total it all that looks wrong is extended brake lines and possibly the outer on the drivers side of the axle. The upper and lower control arms are fine as are the shocks and coils. Axle positioner has a sheared bolt ($1 of work lol) will see what it comes out to they have already issued a check for body work and know its going to another shop for the suspension.

Hmmm, signs that your truck is over lifted for daily driving use, 101.

Ouch man. Been there. YOu didn't hurt yourself? No pain in the neck or something some days after? That stuff can creep up on you.

BTW, why are you driving that car? You out in the wild much?

Oh and DDD, you should come visit me some time, we have snow 7 months a year.

wow lucky it didn't keep going otherwise you might've ended up totalling it. Glad to see repairs aren't that bad. (could have been much worse) What's your deductible? we had it set at 1k on my sport trac and I came 500$ shy of payin off my loan (no gap, have gap on my f150 now) So a 500$ deductible would have saved me a headache.

because a truck hit a curb sideways? i am glad i wasn't in a car in that kind of situation i would have snapped alot more stuff hitting a curb like that and probably still rolled over and well over again because a car isn't going to lay on its side.
