Nice. If some won't listen to the more caustic AJ, perhaps they will be more convinced by the blatant leftist AG. Hit 'em from both sides

So I can see that even one of the smartest men on the planet has nothing to teach you. No surprise there.

Hey, I scold him for propagating the idea of parallel universes and that is in his realm of expertise. I like Kaku but it's not like he's infallible.

Tesla knows jack about nuclear industry. Smart =/= knowledgeable =/= wise. Get your head in order.

The man who went to Harvard is clearly less intelligent than a bunch of random guys on a chat board. Yeah. Gotcha.

Let's see we've got some Republicans, and some guy that took a business course in college telling me that what is being stated in the video is bullshit.

Did anyone dissing the vid actually watch it? What part of it is bullshit? The Part about the ineffectual response to the disaster? The part about the situation being barely under control? The part about the Japanese officials downplaying the severity? The part about the workers risking their lives?

Just wondering what part is supposedly so off base..

The part about Nuclear Energy being unsafe and untenable? Oh that part...the part pro Nuke people like to ignore...the part about no place to store waste.

Oh that's right, some theoretical physicist published some shit about a table top reactor that turns radioactive waste into Unicorn cum. Yeah. But we all know theoretical physicists are one step above a Downs Syndrome child.

The part where there's not much anyone can do about it.

>> The Part about the ineffectual response to the disaster?

Don't need to be a physicist to figure that out.

>> The part about the situation being barely under control?

Or that.

>> The part about the Japanese officials downplaying the severity?

Or that.

>> The part about the workers risking their lives?

Or that.

>> The part about Nuclear Energy being unsafe and untenable? Oh that part...the part pro Nuke people like to ignore...the part about no place to store waste.

Nuclear is safer than coal. Not having a place to store waste is purely a political issue due to the NIMBY effect.

Lets all pretend that nuclear is the ultimate evil, and must be avoided at all costs. How do you recommend us fix the world's (or America's) energy problems then? As long as your arguments are sensible (like lets drill in the Gulf again, BP spilled shitloads of oil, 1 year later its all fine!), I don't mind reconsidering my love for nukulear.

I had actually quoted Kaku in another thread. It was an interview with him in the Daily News that Entropy had posted in yet another thread. I guess you just can't appreciate a good troll any more CD.

There happen to be alternative designs for nuclear reactors that are safe. Do a little research on pebble bed reactors which are air cooled and can't melt down. The only downside is energy density. You need more reactors to produce the same amount of electricity. Or do a little research on thorium reactors which cannot go critical on their own since they require a neutron source. They can also dispose of existing waste by "burning" it and converting the radioactive elements into stable elements that don't require special disposal.

The only reason we have HEU type reactors instead of thorium is because we needed U235 and Pu239 for nuclear weapons. China has already started moving toward pebble beds and thorium.

The problem extremists have is that they don't understand the options and prefer to see everything in black and white. Those who do understand don't want to talk about them because it doesn't suit their political agenda.

Did anyone watch this? He mentions pebble bed reactors and even states how they are safer.
