The last movie you watched (no spoilers)

I know it's rough talking about a movie without revealing too much so maybe this thread will just die on the vine.

My last movie was Machete. Fantastic B-movie, if you can all anything with Robert de Niro a B-movie. I was surprised to see Don Johnson. I thought he was dead LOL.

Now watching formula 51 since it happens to be on one of the movie channels and there was a question about it in the 'guess the movie' thread. Love Samuel L.

Hide and Seek. Really great psychological thriller. I watched it a second time and noticed some great foreshadowing as well. I have no idea why it only has a 5.6 on IMDB. The "metascore" is even worse, 35/100.

That was a good flick. I never saw it coming. Last movie I watched was Resident Evil: Extinction. Complete piece of crap. None of the Resident Evil movies are that great, but this one is by far the worst.

Heavy Metal. First time I ever watched it straight. Still good.

The Hangover Part II. Decent enough to watch, just not quite good enough to see in cinema.

Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 4 yesterday. Rather overloaded action sequences with minimal plot but the movie wasn't as bad as the critics made it out to be. Only has like 35% on Rotten Tomatoes I think. Seen much worse than this.

True Grit. Probably one of the best modern westerns I've seen. Easy to follow, great acting, great scenery, great movie.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the first one was shit too. I got 2/3's of the way through and stopped watching. The only reason I made it that far was because people were saying how great it was. I'm still shaking my head over that one.

I can see where you are coming from. It's a film for frat boys. Basically if you forget all maturity for an hour and a bit then you'll find it funny. But there's losing your maturity, then there's being spoon fed shit and being told to laugh. The second one is the latter.

The Hangover was actually one of the few of its type that I actually enjoyed. That kind of juvenile humor is usually a big turnoff for me but that film somehow played it all well enough without it being cheesy and dirty without being funny. I still hate films like Grandmas Boy and 40 Year Old Virgin mind you but this was a rare find in a sea of crap

Spent most of the day watching Prince of Persia, The Sands of Time (I have to watch in 10-15 minute intervals). It wasn't bad. I liked some of the special effects and acrobatics. A little predictable, but I would recommend it if you like the action/adventure/fantasy genres.

No, you aren't the only one. Me and the Mrs did the same thing. Thought it was worthless.

I rewatched Wall-E today.

Phone Booth. Fucking fantastic. Kiefer Sutherland is awesome. As usual. I found a sound board of nothing but Sutherland's lines from the movie and was very tempted to use that at my telemarketing job.... If I knew the day I was going to get fired I would have done it.

Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stanger Tides.

I thought it was a successful reboot of the franchise after the failure of At Worlds End.

What are you talking about? The whole franchise was shit to begin with.

I'll have to download that. Ummm . . . I mean, check it out. 7.2 on IMDB and only 81 min. Sounds perfect for me.

I'm watching MacGruber. I assume this is based on the MacGuyver series, which I've never seen so I'm afraid I'm missing a lot of the jokes.

This isn't really a spoiler I don't think, but there is one scene where he has to create a distraction and he's naked, clucking like a chicken with a piece of celery up his ass. He later eats the celery. That was pretty funny.

Don't think I can make it all the way through MacGruber.

Samouraïs was cheesy but good. It had a lot of the same plot elements as anime, like the goofy side kick who ends up saving the day due to pure luck. There are also some decent fight scenes and sword play.

Just finished G-Force - the one about a team of rodents who save the world. I thought is was going to be just silly kids' stuff, but I really enjoyed it. When they're not doing retreads of their original movies, Disney can produce some decent entertainment.
