Your Console Collections

Yeah on GN rather than TPU. Also cosnoles are asweome despite certain mail delivery persons saying otherwise.

Why do I collect? Because my parents were rather against video games, and now I'm catching up on what I missed. Mostly the games I have now are games I either played at a friends house back then, or really really wanted to play. But I go after awesome games regardless the reason. But yeah nostalgic catching up is the main drive.

So show your collections, I'll start. The picture quality turned out way crappier than I thought, maybe I'll update with crisper quality some time.

First off, my retro corner, currently consisting of a PS1, PS2, SNES, N64, DC and a modded Sega Saturn that can play US/JAP and EU games.

Then my retro shrine. I'll go into detail below.

PS2 games. Note that the PS2 was my first home console I was allowed to have in 2002. My parents were very strict, I was lucky I was allowed a Gameboy.

SNES and N64 OPs. I opt to collect only OP games for those systems, but I do have a few modules only.

PS1 games.

Dreamcast and Saturn games. Bottom right corner there are a few German Dreamcast magazines. Next to them, a poster that was in the SNES OP.

My modest N64 and SNES games. Currently I only have Turtles in Time, Donkey Kong Country and Super Mario Land for the SNES.

The gameboy collection. I have no idea what happened to my original (red) Gameboy I had as a kid. Same goes for my Pokemon Red, which was hard to come by at the time because it was sold out everywhere. Thanks to a determined mother I still got it. No idea what happened to it tho.

SNES OP, two Dreamcast Controller OP, a few Memory Units and Rumble Packs in OP. Also, the green box holds the import adapter for the N64.

More Memory Units, and the Dreamcast and PS1 Dual Shock OP. I bought the latter off some dude in Germany mainly because he included some games that are somehow hard to come by. Need for Speed III massafakkas!

Sony and Sega controller storage facility.

Nintendo controller storage facility.

Aight, now on to modern terrain. Yeah I like Mangas.

The Wii I recently acquired because its ridiculously cheap nowadays, surrounded by two DJ Hero Renegade Turntables.

Game cabinet. Reason I have more PS3 games is I bought a 360 long after the PS3. Now I just compare both versions and opt for the better platform.
Only twoo Wii games? Yes its rather new.

And finally Yin and Yang side by side. The PS3 is from... 2007 or 2008, still works without a hitch. The 360 is from earlier this year, newer model. Also no problems there.

And yes thats the packaging for a God of War Blades of CHaos replica. Check my knife thread out if you're interested.

Now, show me yours, I showed you mine

Very nice, Marcel

I've got a Slim PS3 with 8 older games, two original PS1's (one stock, one painted) with about 10 games, Silver GameCube with 4 games, one working Lime GBC which I use, one non-working Purple GBC, and one Cobalt SP with 3 games. I would take pictures but it's all spread out and not nearly as cool looking as your stuff.

Resize the pictures! They are low quality anyway, you don't need them to be garganuan x immersive!

With that said, I've got a broken Sega Genesis I'm thinking about using as a computer case.

I'll update the pictures soon enough. Its the light situation that makes them look low quality, the camera (phone) is actually very good. But its night time here and uing a flash with the ambient light turns out even uglier. So i gotta wait till daytime.

Its a Memory Card. To play import games, there are switches on the back.

On a sidenote, you won't believe how rare PS1 memory Cards are.

I have dozens of those at home.

EDIT: I also really REALLY envy your ability to play Crash Bandicoot. I loved that game.

Just stumbled upon an eBay auction selling Mario Party 1-3, Mario 64, Mariokart64 and Mario Golf. All except Mario64 in OP and like new. For 70 Euros as of now. Mario Party 3 alone is worth double that with OP.

That is quite a nice collection. I had a really big one at one time, but I sold off a lot of it. Slowly rebuilding it. Only pic that I have on hand is my Sega Genesis/CD collection. I have:

NES
SNES
Genesis/CD
PS1
Dreamcast
PS2
Gamecube
PS3
Wii.

I may have to break out my collection and photograph it. I'm thinking about getting a Retron to play my SNES games since the AC plug in broke a hell of a long time ago.

I like your collection MRCL, and JC I love the Sega collection.

Oh Jaws... my knowledge of NES games is almost exclusively based on AVGN and Classig Game Room, since noone I know owns a NES and its not that high on my list of things to get. But man Jaws sucks. But then you have some very nice classics. Battletoads is one of the reasons the NES is even on my list.

I have a Playstation 1. Do the portable ones count? I have a Gameboy Color (violet) and a PSPGo.

I use emulators for playing my PS1 games now though. My monitor's bigger than our TV LOL

I have a lot of games that the AVGN has done. Jaws does suck, but it didn't suck near as bad when I was 5 years old.

Jaws
Street Fighter 2010
Terminator 2
Dragons Lair
and Zelda 2

Those have been done by the AVGN and for good reason. I need to send him Total Recall since he has yet to review it lol. It's by far the worst.

And it just expanded. Won an eBay auction ending up winning this:

Mario Party 1 - 3, MarioKart, Mario Golf, and Mario64. All except Mario64 with OP, booklet and everything.

The price? Roughly 150 bucks. Now we consider the prices normally paid for the games individually here...

Mario Party 1: 53.-
Mario Party 2: 59.- (JUST THE MODULE)
Mario Party 3 119.-
Mario Golf: 43.-
Mario64: 18.-
MarioKart: 89.-

So that totals at 381 bucks, WELL over 150 bucks. I love it when I come across bargains like this

ye best thing is to emulate it, as it looks soooo much better

only thing is when your discs are to worn then you have to "cough get another version" but if you own it anyways who's going to care
